CONOR PASS, CO LERRY, IRELAND
567 hectares (1,400 acres) including the world famous Pedlar’s Lake
The lands, which are located adjacent to the village of Cloghane , overlooking Brandon Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, are only 6 km from Dingle Town . The lands are situated at the foot of Mount Brandon with the Owenmore Fishery forming the western boundary. The Conor Hill provides a spectacular southern boundary and Sliabh Mhacha Ré forms the eastern boundary. The land comprises 162 hectares (400 acres) of mature forest, with the remaining 404 hectares (1,000 acres) comprising valley and mountain grazing lands. The holding includes three lakes, Lough Atlea, Lough Clogharee and Pedlar’s Lake . Pedlar’s Lake is internationally renowned and was the backdrop used in the filming of the “The Field”. The property has a diverse range of flora and fauna and in addition to the established forestry, the lands sustain a herd of Connemara Ponies and a diversity of wildlife. There are a number of ruins scattered throughout the property and it also has established access points from the Conor Pass Road. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a significant landholding on the Dingle Peninsula , located in an internationally recognised tourist destination. It is exceptional for such a large land holding, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty to be offered for sale. The potential for the land holding is endless and could be acquired by the private sector for an eco-tourism based venture, as a private nature reserve or an estate. Indeed, the State may consider the acquisition of the lands toestablish a National Park.
